Got the Free Ticket

Post created on May 21, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · No Comments »

Got the United Airlines free ticket last Saturday. Although I am still traumatized of driving in an interstate highway..it wasn’t bad at all. I got free round trip ticket!!!It only cost me more or less $15 worth of gas and I went to Talin Asian Market to get some Filipino foodah too…Whereas, if I have to buy the ticket, it would cost me more or less 600 bucks. It’s worth it, after all. Ka-artehan lang gyd nako.
Talin is a big asian grocery store in Albuquerque owned by a Vietnamese. It has variety of stuff from different Asian cities/countries such as India, Vietnam, Manila, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Beijing, etc. I will post more about this in the future.

Lechon!!!!!

Post created on May 21, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · 5 Comments »

I am craving for lechon baboy eversince I came here. I even went internet shopping for lechon. Filipino restaurants from San Franciso, San Diego and LA cannot deliver inasal over here in the desert. So, I plan to go to one of this places and just eat lechon. :D I had Cuban lechon in Miami two years ago but it was not good at all. It was bland and tasteless. If there is a word that’s more superlative than “best” then that would be the perfect description of Cebu’s Lechon. They’re awesome!! As in!!

Is there a lechon place in New York? I surfed the net and I can’t find any but there a bunch of Filipino Restaurants/Turo-turo over downtown Manhattan. Sadly, inasal is no where to be found on their menus. Huhuhu. Can somebody send me one?

NY Travel Guide Book

Post created on May 20, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · No Comments »

For the first time in history, I bought a travel book! (*wink). This is how excited I am. My boyfriend even told me that I am more excited in going to New York than seeing him. Actually, New York would be as dull as a desert without him. If I have to choose, I would rather go to Timbuktu with him than strolling the beauty of NY without him. It doesn’t matter where you are..what matters the most is who you’re with. This is what happiness for me. Jaime is my happiness not New York. char! Well, in this case, I have everything in both worlds – NY and Jaime. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Anyhoo, I usually don’t plan my trips with an organize/systematic schedule. When you travel, you supposed to have itineraries already laid out -date-time-destination format- in order for you not to miss a single place of interest. But for me, I just don’t go with the idea that you’ll have to follow a certain schedule in your vacation. I mean, vacations should mean stress-free/worry-free. You had enough schedules in your everyday-life and I don’t think you need to follow one in your recreation time. The advantage of having an organized trip? You’ll be able to see everything. Disadvantage? You will always be running after time consequently not enjoying your trip. This trip of mine? This is no ordinary trip. This is a celebration, as well. We’ll be two years (and counting) together. With the help of this book, we will make sure that we’ll enjoy and we’ll see everything there is to see in New York City. (*wink).

My Little Bro

Post created on May 19, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · No Comments »

Being a pilot has always been my little brother’s dream. Since he was 5 years old, he wanted to fly a plane. He would say he would take the whole family flying all over the world. And that dream never changes until now. Now, all he needs is harwork to reach this goal. It’s all up to him. My sister and I are willing to help him despite we questioned his promise not to go astray. He cannot blame us for thinking so. He spent almost 7 years in high school. Being the youngest, everything is served to him in silver platter. Every member of the family was at fault I guess. When he was young, we spoiled him. He didnt have any house chore. All he did was play. Everything he wanted was given to him. It was too late when we realized that we were indeed spoiling him. He became really lazy and dependent.

Now, that he’s 21 and he knows he’s too old to screw around. We all can see he’s determine to fulfill his one and only dream. Right after his graduation, he went to every aeronautic school in Cebu to inquire about what courses they offered. He told us that it wouldn’t matter to him which school we’re going to send him as long as we will provide him the financial support he needed. We want the best for him so we send him to the best aeronautic school in Cebu. I forgot what it’s called. It’s located somewhere in Lapu-lapu. I just hope he won’t fail us this time. He won’t just be wasting our hard-earned money but we will be heart broken as well. Money can be replaced but the disappointment is hard to heal.
