Scam or Just Paranoia?
Post created on August 1, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts
I was blog-hopping yesterday and I stumbled upon this blog http://hospitalscams.blogspot.com/. I’ve spent the whole afternoon reading it. It was about this British guy who met a Filipina online. He literally spammed the internet with his 20 different blogs about his said misfortunes with this girl. He believed that he was scammed – that the girl, Paranaque Medical Hospital, doctors, lawyers, the British Embassy of the Phil, Tierra Maria Estates and even Chin-chin Guttierez were all part of it. He believed that this is a large scale and organized plot against him. How much money involved? It was all for Php 84,000.00. Geeh! Imagine 20 people were trying to extort him for just Php 84,000.00! So if these so-called scammers divide the multi-million pesoseses, each of them would get a stunning Php 4,200.00!! Whew!Paranaque Medical Hospital can build four more branches from its share! The doctors and lawyers can retire with their money! Awesome!!Take note: he never shelled out the said amount out of his pocket!!! Read his detailed blog and it’s for you to find out if it was indeed true or if it was just a pigment of his imagination. I can’t help but compared him to John Nash(”Beautiful Mind”) – not the intelligent side but the sanity side of him.
A lot of people have been blogging about it and this one I particularly like: http://jepoy.bengero.com/2008/02/hospitalscamsblogspotcom-severe-case-of.html. The guy even posted comments/reactions on it. He would attack everyone who didn’t believe him. This blog I also like : http://reynaelena.com/2008/04/24/was-there-a-scam-the-motive/ . An excerpt from this blog:
“This is a story that is a product of Tim’s doubts and fears and escalated into a mix of fantasy/reality that’s already imbedded in his mind. A story that was already hatched in the UK even before it started in Manila and everything that happened in between were just proofs of those doubts and fears. “
Quite honestly, I was really entertained.
Well, I really pity him though. He created his own nightmare and consequently ruined his own happiness.

Hi,
I spent more than a week digesting what the guy wrote. I would admit, he got me fooled because I started reading his articles and I was leaning towards him until I was in the middle of his article then everything unfolded. This was just his own sick story and he is even blanketing the internet that this was some form of “romance”, as in halllerrrr!!! ROMANCE?! This was nothing but pure deception!
I detailed my analysis including a point by point analysis FROM HIS OWN WORDS and narration how I was able to prove my point.
It’s under the Category “Tierra Maria”.
You be careful now, because he will also plaster your face on the internet like what he had done to all of us.
Bottom line, the Tim Curper aka Ellumbra is sick. Very sick.
waaaa.. patay pala ako nito.. he is sick..worst, he believed his hallucinations.. thanks reyna elena for the reminder and dropping by.. i am going to take out my picture now..wa

New convert eh guys?
Listen, if you want to make this sort of thing look real, I suggest you add a few comments to the girls blog before suddenly galloping in here, all on the same day to leave comments on this one and only thread – it just makes it kinda obvious OK?
That it’s a PUT UP JOB.
Just like everything else – no change.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
You see, you’ve fallen into the same trap as all the others – I have never said that they would all share the pay-off – that is just ridiculous. It’s simply a last resort statement that people have been making – because that’s all they have to say – and it suits the purpose of making me seem ridiculous. But in actual fact, I have never, ever said that – so who looks ridiculous?
Come on – Get Real Philippines.
I like your sense of sarcasm – but in all fairness, I’m only standing up for what I believe – against a Kangaroo Court – lynch-mob mentality.
You see – all you have is casual wishful thinking This doesn’t really concern you and you ignore the significance, the pertinence of the areas I have pointed out in the story – whereas I have highlighted numerous red-flags in the events that I have been following closely – in great detail.
So the fact that you are all being so stubborn in your denial of these warning signs – can only mean one thing.
Certainly you are not behaving impartially or rationally – you are behaving like people with opinions already formed – determined to cover up one deception with another one.
Why?
Goodness only knows.
@ellumbra – Of course we’ll be “galloping” on this particular blog post in one day after receiving those backlink reports on our blogs. Haven’t you heard of the thing they call email, IM and SMS?
Anyway, you said GET REAL? OKAY, LET’S GET REAL. SO IT’S BEEN WHAT? 1YEAR? So where are the other victims of the grand scale scam? Where are your supporters and believers?
NONE. ZERO. NADA.
All you have are bunch of comments from unverifiable sources, which probably you wrote yourself. Get some distinguished or long time blogger or some news website to believe your stories first. Have them write about your story and how they believe you were right.
Since I’ve blogged about you last February 2008, I haven’t found a single blog or website that even believed your stories. You actions against the blog owner proves one thing, YOU ARE A BIG JOKE.
C’MON, GET REAL OLD MAN.
@ Jepoy – your whole argument seems to pivot, precariously, on the single point that is consensus of opinion. As if, with regards to truth and justice, mob-rule is a worthy judge, quantity always superior to quality.
There are countless people, not connected in any way to the Internet or blogging, who have already deemed my story perfectly possible – we have received all those legitimate comments and more, from people who believe the same.
The fact that these people are not inspired or motivated to add written endorsements, merely reveals how obvious and final their verdict is. They could not be bothered, it is already signed, sealed and delivered.
Even yourself, you have allowed room in your assessment for the possibility of changing your mind, were I to find “some distinguished or long time blogger or some news website” – which uncovers your own uncertainty, despite the enthusiatic propaganda you have distributed.
The fact is, I have not bothered to appeal to anyone. I do not consider further endorsement necessary. Besides, to satisfy your criteria, these would have to be Philippine bloggers, or a Philippine news website, yes?
Quite simply, because of the ambiguous nature of the story, no-one, other than myself would be prepared to commit themselves to a concrete decision – in writing.
But that does nothing to lessen the overpowering weight of suspicious circumstances surrounding these events. Suspicion which appears everywhere, around every twist and turn – as each new piece was added to the jigsaw – the weight of evidence, all be it “soft” evidence, falls firmly on the side of suspicion.
Remember, we are in the arena of deception – hard evidence is extremely unlikey – the recording of the fake scar was fortuitous, so evidence can only be deduced through analysis of behaviour, inconsistencies, proven lies, evidence of subterfuge and further deceit – all of which is in abundance.
Conversely – evidence to support your version of events is decidely thin on the ground – nothing tangible was forthcoming – nothing was volunteered – until the threat of exposure was introduced – all of it suspect, and nothing further to the JPG of the bill has appeared since August 2007 – in spite of the serious urgency of proving their innocence.
It is only wishful thinking, national bias or artificial mobilisation – which could allow anyone to think differently or make an alternative conclusion from my story.
Which of those applies to you Jepoy?
@ Reyna Elena “This was nothing but pure deception!”
You’ve finally worked it out – top marks.
