Resistance is Futile

Post created on September 30, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · No Comments »

Change is the only constant in this world. And if you resist change and go against with the flow, you’ll be in “trouble”. :D

Right now, I am facing CHANGE myself. I am talking BIG – humungous change in my life. No, I am not talking about marriage and yes, I am talking about my lovelife. :-D

My boyfriend found a job here. He’s been searching quite a while now and finally, he got one. Although there was a New York job offer for him which was way better than what he got in New Mexico, he had chosen to be with me. Being the career-oriented that he is, it was not hard for him to pick me over his career. He never fails to make me fall in love with him over and over again.

I have mixed emotions – happy, excited, anxious and a bit scared. HAPPY because we’ll be together each day at last. Excited – to our future adventures. Anxious about if this makes our relationship stronger or not. Scared because of CHANGE. And I am willing to learn to embrace whatever changes/sacrifices I have to make for him.

We’ll see…

I love you, sweetie…

Can’t wait to be with you…

Prison Break Season 4 is Indeed a Redemption

I can’t get enough of Prison Break’s new season. When I watched the first episode, I was actually anxious if it is going to redeem the last half-baked season. Indeed, it exceeded my expectations – really. It was far better than I thought. The storyline was brilliant. The writers managed to keep Prison Break’s wide audience enthralled. Kudos to them, to the director and to the rest of the staff! You didn’t fail us this time.

I am loving it! :D

Bugoy

One time, Jaime told me that I was yelling Bugoy’s name while I was asleep. Hahaha.. He was just kidding really. I am not that fanatic noh! He was teasing me because I was really hooked with Pinoy Dream Academy show. I totally admire Bugoy, one of the dreamers. His life story is very humbling and amazing plus his voice is just really beautiful. I hope he will win this Saturday.

I leave you his first ever recorded song:

01 Track 1.wma – Bugoy

This song is dedicated to all the friends I loved before. Lol!

Prison Break Season 4 Premiere

My head was spinning while I was watching the two-hour premiere. The pacing was too fast — it’s like watching the 0.01 sec winnning moment of Michael Phelps –I can hardly catch my breath. If you are not careful, you can get a heart attack from watching it ! :-) Alright, okay okay– I admit –it’s just because of Wentworth –that everytime the camera focuses on him–I can’t breathe.. Haha.. Exag!.

Anyways, going back …

There’s too much going on. Whistler and Gretchen were killed, Mahone’s family were murdered, T-bag’s cannibalism, Linc caught in Panama, Sarah reunited with Michael, protagonists were brought back together, bad guys were out of the way and then came a new plot -the prison breakers (;-) have to work together to break the Company apart and in return they’re going to get their freedom back.. I got a headache after watching it. Don’t get me wrong…it wasn’t a bad premiere. I just hope they’re going to tone it down a little bit — give the audience the opportunity to sink it in rather than bludgeoning them everything at once. Everything happened very quickly. They might have bigger plans though–we’ll see.

Well, these still didn’t stop me from being a big fan. Is this good enought to redeem season 3’s bad finale? The answer is Yes.

Another thing though, “prison break” doesn’t apply anymore in this season. Can it be called something else since there’s no breaking of penitentiary involved? Hmm.. How about “Out of Prison”? “Company Break”?? Since they’re trying to break the Company?Or, “Break from Prison”?? Since the authority is giving them a break from the prison? Just a thought.. :D

Went to Chicago Anyway

Post created on September 2, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · No Comments »

I booked a last minute ticket to Chicago. It wasn’t bad of a price – given the fact that it was a holiday weekend. I know I said I should be stingy with money, but my sister told me that I should treat myself. I deserved it. :-) And I guess, she’s right and this might be my first and last opportunity to visit Chicago.

Chicago exceeded my expectations. It was nice, organized and clean. Although, the downtown area of Chicago is not as big as New York, aesthetically speaking, it is far more beautiful than NYC. If you’ll visit Chicago, Millenium Park, the Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, Soldier Field, the Aquarium, Sears (the tallest bldg of the city ) etc… are one of the many places that you shouldn’t miss. As for the food, their pizza is to die for. NY’s restaurants are still the best though. There are tons of them compared to Chicago. Shopping is also great here — Michigan Ave is like the Fifth Ave. of New York. Good thing I don’t have money — I could’ve wasted it to shopping. :-)

One more thing, don’t forget your walking shoessss when you visit Chicago!!
