10 year-old Going on 20
Post created on December 23, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · 5 Comments »
Jaime and I were shopping last weekend – getting ourselves caught in holiday rush. We went to Gap ( I remember my friend Farley love this shop so much that wherever we shop, this would be our first destination.) and saw a glimpse of this very beautiful girl. She was wearing make-up -not heavy though. She looked like she’s 20 something years old. I couldn;t stop my self to stare at her. Oo Eem Gee, she’s just a kid! I went closer towards her and found out that she’s just about 10 or 11 years old. Whew!
I tried to recall how I looked like when I was ten. I was “gus-gosin”, with “sipon” and all. I don’t even know how to dress myself and ocassionally, peed in my pants. LOL. Look what the world have become now ( I sounded like my Nanay Isang), teens acting/dressed-up like their adults. And in this case, that girl is not even in her teenage years yet. Compare Miley Cyrus and Charice Pempengo on how they dressed-up. See the difference? They’re just of the same age for goodness sakes and Cyrus looks like she’s ten years older than Charice. My point being is these adult-wannabe’s should act according to their age. Mas madami ditong ganito keysa sa Pinas. That’s why, I really want to raise my future children (as in plural) in the Philippines.

Happy Holidays y’all!

Prison Break Fall Finale : Sunshine State

I never expected that this would be the last episode of Prison Break. They’ll show the last six episodes of season 4 in Spring. They’d better be or else, I am going to call all the prison break fans, which is hundredz of thousannddddzz, to rally in LA.
What I love about the show is its being unpredictable. It will really keep you on your seat – the storyline is so fast -its like watching the Bourne Supremacy – you can hardly catch your breath. The moment you let yourself be distracted, you would think that you missed one whole episode.
Anyways lets recap, shall we. So scylla was in the buyer’s hands (which turns out to be Lincoln and Scofield’s mom ),

Lincoln has to get Scylla as a leverage for Michael.

Michael was brought in some far away house by the company to force him to join them. There he was told that his mom works for the company and that she’s alive. Michael Manage to escape.

Gretchen again set Lincoln’s group (which is now composed of T-bag, Self, and Mahone) and changed her mind consequently gotten herself shot.
If this were written by a Filipino, Gretchen and Lincoln would be a loveteam like Bea and John Lloyd. There would be a love story between the two of them. They really look together though. We Filipinos are just sucker for cheeziness.. aren’t we?
Anyways, I can’t wait for March (ang tagal pa..waa)

The Geek Shall Internet the Earth – ThinkGeek Dot Com
Post created on December 18, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · No Comments »

I stumble
upon this website while looking for gifts. I was really amazed with the weirdness and geekness (is that a word?) of what they got. Aside from gadgets, electronics and toys, they have shirts, bags and some wacky office supplies as well. They have this casette tape bag that I particularly like and this super weird personal soundtrack T-shirt. It’s so fabulous! Whether you’re in the toilet, in the park, or in a date you need a dramatic background music to enhance these real life experiences. This T-shirt will do the “enhancing” for you. Parang movie scene ba, you always have a background music.Lol.
This mug, I’d like to give to all my co-workers and friends who have petty issues with their computer. It says ” No, I will not fix your computer. ” WEEEE. This is to stop them from bugging me with their repetitive and petty problems. Jowk. I am not that mean .
I would love to get these folders. They have three different styles :Useless documents to provide appearance of importance in meetings, Papers to shuffle endlessly thereby accomplishing nothing, and Stuff to hide from boss, spouse, or otherwise nosy individual. I badly need these.
Another fave of mine is their mini-fridge. This can be used for home or car. Sosyal! I’d like to get this just for the heck of it. You can say something like, “Hey pare, I have a fridge in my car”. Bongga!
And of
couse, the geeks need energy boost to keep them awake at night. As all of you may notice, they are nocturnal creatures thereby needing a great boost of mana energy potion. More Mana = More Power! I’d like to get these just for decoration purposes only. I remember these with the game I used to play way back college named “Diablo.” You have to use a mana potion to regain energy after a fight with the zoombies. Hehe. I’d like to give one to my friend Jepoy. He needs one of these more than anybody elese in the world. Haha. Peace Jepz!
Do you want a picture of your deoxyribonucleic (ni-research ko pa to ha)acid? Look no more, DNA portrait is here! With the advent of forensic electrophoresis, your own beautiful genetic makeup can be your own personalized art. How? The process according to ThinkGeek: First, we collect a few cheek cells.
It’s a painless process – just swipe the inside of your mouth with a cotton swab. Then, you send your sample to our labs where our monkey scientists replicate a few (clone-troopers) extra strands of DNA, dye them, embed them in a gel, and apply an electric field. Smaller chains of DNA get pulled along the field faster than the larger ones, leaving several streaky rows of genetic markers that get captured on a photographic plate. We take that photo, color it based on your requested color-theme, and in 6 to 8 weeks you’ll have a beautiful framed 8″ by 10″ portrait that’s as personal as your fingerprint.
But wait, there’s more! You can also get DNA portraits of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Britney Spears, Bush, Obama, Bin Laden, etc. Grab them now! Unlimited offer only. LOL.
Blogging in IPhone

I am testing if this will work. I downloaded an app called Blogwriter (if I am not mistaken) but didn’t work. So, I searched for good app reviews over the net and I found Lifecast. To top it off, it’s freeee!
My 200 words per minute (charing lang) typing skill is equivalent to 1 word per minute in iphone. It gets into my nerve this word suggestion feature of iphone. It kicks in when it thinks it knows what are you going to type. Ano to may Madame Auring feature din? Especially when I type-in words in Bisaya or Tagalog or any other language but English, it frustrates me. Amp (like this one,I typed ano but look what I got.) I have to go back and delete the wrong word to make it right. It takes a lot of your time. Anyone knows how to turn this annoying feature off? I will love you to death, pramis.
Other than this, I am pretty happy with my phone. It is very convenient. I can now blog, chat and social climb ala reyna elena (http://www.reynaelena.com/) anytime, anywhere!

SNOWY Monday and Last Year’s Misfortune
Post created on December 15, 2008 by Reesie under Blogger Posts · 7 Comments »
I wake up this morning surprised to know that it is snowing. Call me whatever, but I am really scared of driving in snow. So I get up and put up a brave face. I have no choice but to go to work. The usual five-minute drive to the office took me thirty minutes. I was really freaking out. I was anticipating for an accident to happen. I could feel it. Of course, I was right. When I was almost in the office, my car spin. “Not again, oh Lord. I am done with this.” I didn’t hit the brake as I learned my lesson well when I rolled over my car a year ago . Then a flash back of memory :
Spring of last year, I rolled over my car in an interstate highway. Apparently, my back tire blew-out and panic hovered me so I hit the brake. Right there and then, my car flipped twice. I was driving 80 mph. Luckily, I got out with no scratch. I believe it was a miracle. The insurance totaled my car for it was unrepairable.
I am lucky again today. I almost hit the sidewalk post but other than that, I was fine. It took me a while to gather myself and head to work. I was still trembling with nervous when I got to my desk.
I don’t want to experience the horror of a car accident again. I had enough mishaps with cars. (I was hit by a car when I was eleven.) So to drive in a snow was just horrifying to me. I hate snow! Ayaw ko nang mag-flip!
Terrified and Freezing,
