My First and Last Try in Photography?

I know some friends of mine who are now into digital photography. Tim even encouraged me to start shooting people ;) , animals, landscape, flowers, etc. The problem was I had no interest and haller, DSLR’s are so damn expensive!

One of my responsibilities here in the office is deciding what computers, servers, network equipment, and some engineering gadgets should the company purchase.  Now, the engineering department needs a very good camera –so who are they gonna call? Moi! As if I know anything about cameras! So I chose Canon EOS 50D from Best Buy, the most expensive one they have! Hindi ko naman pera, eh!

And you know what, I realized photography is fun! I might consider getting a camera like this sooner. Or, I can borrow this anytime anyway. Lol. Cheapangga talaga ang lola nyo!

Nilalaro ko ang cam and here’s my first shot:

Note pala:  Photoshop did not touch this. Raw ito mga fwendz. Fresh na fresh from the garden. :D

How did I do mga professional photographer friends? Bff Epfi? Herbs? Jes? Jepoy? Joycee? All of you my blogosphere friends? Should I just stop right now or should I try and try and try until I die?

So bff Epfi taught me a thing or two about aperture chuvaekek na yan. It took me hours to locate that lecheng F stop! :D Thanks to epfi’s patience.

Thanks bff Epfi! Sana naman hindi nasayang ang itinuro mo sa akin. Pero, di ko pa makuha yung sabi mong bokeh. Konting bokeh lang ata yan eh, I want super bokeh! Lolz

    center mo pa yung main flower, then adjust mo focus. Tapos, bilan mo din ako ng DSLR, kahit yung lumang Canon 300D :D

      ang hirap pala mag adjust ng focus. tapos ang bigat pa ng camera. malaki ang lens kasi. napakabigat! kailangan ng tripod.

    Serious…pwede kang magtry. Konting adjust pa sa focus at lighting, swak na swak.

    pero in fairness, maganda talaga ang unang kuha mo. pwedeng wallpaper!

    Ako din, bilhan mo ng DLSR, kahit yung nikon or canon lang, masaya na ako.. LOL.

      Mahilig din ako sa photography. Yung N70 ko nga e nilalaro-laro ko yun pag magaganda ang sceneries. Actually, pwede siyang ma-adjust para kumuha ng matinong picture. Ang problem lang nya e limited ang pixels nya.

      Kaya nga dream ko magkaroon ng DLSR…hahahha…

      At nakakarelax ang putografy…hahhhaha…

      fwend, fwend talga kita! pero ang hirap talga ng hocos-focus na iyan eh!

      padala ko sayo replica nlng nd DSLR ha, puede?

      parehas kayo ni jepoy, phone lang gamit nya pero ganda ng picture inperness! mas maganda pa sa kuha ko galing dslr! lol

    wow si bff naka 50D
    pero ok yan kasi CANON
    lolz

    put the SUNFLOWER (subject on ROT)
    ROT means rule of third

    then use lower f/stop
    try having f/2.8 or whatever is the lowest value

    this will give some part of your image a bokeh effect
    bokeh is japanese meaning blurry

    pag may bokeh background ka
    lalong lumalabas yung image mo
    this will make your image stand out

    Hala baket kasama ako sa pinagtanungan?? Namula daw bigla, noob pa lang ako, teacher ko nga si kuya eps, nag-drop nga ko kase nasira cam ko wehehehe. Pahinga muna sya.

    Pero nasabi na nga ni Kuya eps eh, sya din nagturo ng mga sasabihin ko sayo hihi. You’ll do better! Pero ako hinde makagawa ng better! Lage nga ko repeat sa mga lessons ko.

    Go Ate Reesie! Photography is indeed fun, pero mahal nga lang i-maintain ang hobby na ‘to. *mwahh

    Pareho pala tayo ngayon ng hobby sis. Amateur photographer din ang lowla Snow mo. ^_^

    Teka, among the pics the 2nd one looks lively. Kuha mo yung focal point. Dun naman sa iba, kailangan i-emphasize yung subject tulad nung 2nd pic.

    Maganda naman ang picture. Interesting naman yung details nung mga bulaklak na yan. Great start! ^_^

    huwaw reese, into photography ka na rin. i wish i could do that too. i really need to save up more moolah for the canon that i have been eyeing on. malamang pag nakabili ako eh maaadik ako lalo sa picture picture! hehehe!

    on the pics, the last three pics (as assisted by epfi) eh much better than the first one. sabi nga nila, practice makes perfect. walang taong sinilang na magaling agad sa photograpy. try lang ng try… then share to us your obras :)

        walang halong bola un reese ah. your second set of pics are way better. may konting drama na cya. pag type mo subject eh tao at kinailangan mo ng model, pwede akong magvolunteer ah! hehehe!

        parang ikaw ang excited sa bora ko ah! uu, sa sat na yun. 3 tulog na lang!!! :)

          gaga. anong hindi binasa. dinouble check ko tama naman sinabi ko ha! “I CANT BELIEVE CANONIAN KA NA!!!!”-cause you’re planning to buy one soon.

          WAG CANON!!!! NIKON!!! hahahahahah.NAYKON!!!!

          etchosera ka ring bakla ka. saka. heller. shots mo parin sayo-its the shot that matters naman eh. not the cam.

          sige. seryosong usapan muna hehe.

          if i were you-go for Nikon D40-it’s really newbie friendly and it helps you learn the basics easier compared to the high-end ones. and it’s really cheap too. Mahirap naman kung kukuha ka agad ng high-end and not learn the tweaks yet-kahit nga bang merong nagtuturo sayo-it’s better that you evolve.

          once na natutunan mo na lahat with your d40-upgrade yourself with a D90 (its better than a D80 cause it has video na rin-and its effing HD!) -though this are all from a Nikonian’s point of view. Naweiweirdohan kasi ako sa Canon eh hahaha.

          So ayun, hope this’ll help you with choosing your cam soon. :)

          p.s. etchosera ka pa rin. Pro pro mo mukha mo! anong pro ka diyan. kakasimula ko lang nung january ateng. umayos ayos ka nga. BIli ka na ng d40 dali!!!! hahaha

          jan ka lang nagsimula? wowowee! amazing! amazing yung mga pics mo ha, imperness. akala ko 48 years ka na sa photography chuva na iyan. :D

          ateng, pagbibili ako ung hindi pang newbie na para hndi ako bibili ng bibili.. upgrad ng upgrade.. cguro ung before sa high-end cam. lolz. ambisyosa di ba!

          dali, punta ka na dito!! :D

    wow ate kahit canon maganda naman ung kuha pero xempre sa mapangmata nila kuya efpi eh may kulang pa jan hehe..ang nice nung flower’s, i really love flowers ate..:)

    Wow Reesie ang galing!! hats off! isa sa mga frustration ko yan eh. photography. frustration na lang kasi di ko kaya bilhin ang mga mamahaling cameras na yan. LOL

    yung digicam ko canon din peru yung mumurahing Powershot series. hehe

    WOW!! Sis! First attempt ba talaga yan? Galeng galeng, kaso wala ko alam sa photography kaya di ko alam kung ikaliligaya mo ang koment ko na to. Basta 2 thumbs up sa kin weeheee.

    Ah yung pala “bokeh” – dun sa flickr ni epfi akala ko…bakalng term for “bokya” bwahahaha!
